Solution 1: Clogged Pool Pump Filters

One of the main reasons for the creation of a high pressure at pool pumps is its dirty and clogged filters.

Once you find that the filters are clogged with debris, then you must clean those filters asap.

In the case of sand and DE filters, regular backwashing would be sufficient.

But for cartridge filters, you have to manually clean the cartridges after removing them from the filter assembly.

Solution 2: Compare and Control the Flow Rate

Every filter has a specific flow rate that it can handle efficiently.

If the capacity of the pump is more than required, then it will draw in more water.

After that, it will easily surpass the flow rate of the filter causing back pressure.

To prevent this from happening, you need to first compare the horsepower and flow rate of the pump with the flow rate of the filter.

Therefore, I always recommend to first checking and cleaning the breather tube regularly.

Remove the impurities by washing them thoroughly with a hose.
